CULTURE WORKER VS. MINISTER OF CULTURE

A district court will hear the case of Levon Abrahamyan against the Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan on January 17. Abrahamyan is the former director of the Music Chamber Theater. He wants the court to consider invalid the order issued by the minister of culture which instructs to dismiss Abrahamyan from his post.

A new director has already been appointed. Abrahamyan said he had personally talked the theater employees into accepting the new appointment.

One of the reasons for the dismissal mentions that Abrahamyan is no more “trustful.” The former director said has been trusted a lot of important events in the past, among them HayFest Cultural Festival, One Nation – One Culture Festival and Days of Armenia in Russia.
