SPECIAL TREATMENT TO DRAFTEES

Speaking about state graduation and common exam system, Vania Barseghian, director of assessment and testing center of the ministry of education and science, told reporters today that the new system “creates opportunities to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge.”

The school graduates of this year will take exams based on the new system from Armenian language and literature subjects. Some 7500 schoolchildren participate in experimental exams in October 2006. The center director says corrections are made in the system based on experiment results.

Applicant draftees will pass a special common exam. Barseghyan said applicants will be registered on-line and will take exams in community schools assigned for that purpose.
