Study of Foreign Languages to Change

"The study of foreign languages in Armenia has been exhausted," states Levon Mkrtchyan, Minister of Education. By October, he says, amendments to the study of foreign language will be published, so that by next year examinations will be conducted in the new, centralized method.

Concerning entrance examinations, Mkrtchyan points out that last year the competition in the engineering field was very weak, but that this year, for example, in the architectural university the competition in engineering was quite high. According to him, high competition is also expected in radio physics, while a weaker field is expected in law.

The minister rated the examination process as positive, adding that shortcomings would be taken care of, especially in film production.
