SARGIS TKHRUNI RELEASES STATISTICS ON ENTRANCE EXAM COMMITTEES

Sargis Tkhruni Youth Student Union of Social Democratic Hnchak Party reported 138 calls made to union hot line in the course of 20 days, 27 percent of which for unfair grading, 24 percent - inflexible grading system, 16 percent – bribery and other interventions, 13 percent - patronage and the rest for other types of breaches. This data was released by Narek Galstyan, union leader, at a meeting with reporters today. In his words, eighty percent of calls were made by parents of applicants coming from the middle class “who have no other means or opportunities to get accepted using other channels.” “We were surprised that most of the calls were made from Yerevan. One should also say that no calls were made from state employees,” Galstyan said.
