In the Polish newspaper “Gazeta Wyborcza” Armenia was described as the “country under the shadow of Mt. Ararat” in an article presenting Armenia as an ideal destination for vacationers. “We think that one can travel across Armenia for several days, and that every day see a place worthy of note,” writes the article’s author. In his article, he tells that “This mountainous place is one that amazes, with waterfalls that flow like Armenian hospitality.”
We note that in the first half of 2007, the number of tourists increased by 36%, as 181,000 tourists visited the country which, according to the minister of trade and finance, will reach a number approaching 450,000. The 2006-07 International Trade Forum rated Armenia as 74th on a list of 124 as ideal vacation destinations.
