Prizes given on teachers’ day

Today concluded the 2007 competition of educators and principals. Shushan Piployan, from School No. 9 in Gavar, was chosen as the best teacher in the competition, and was gifted a new car. Also gifted a car was elementary school teacher Angel Grigoryan, from the “Ani” school in Gyumri. “For me this was a big surprise. Even though I don’t know how to drive a car, I will without doubt learn,” she said upon receiving the keys to the car.

Congratulations to the winners of the competition of master teachers and educators were sent by Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan. “I want to say thank you. I want to thank you that you are here, doing this job. I know that you are completing your obligations, sometimes with great difficulties, and are doing so with honor,” said Sargsyan.

Winner in the competition for best principal was Ruzanna Kostanyan, from Dashtents School #114, whom Levon Mkrtchyan granted a special certificate. Nine pedagogues were given special notice in an order by the Armenian president for their long service in the profession, and granted the title “Meritorious Pedagogue of the Republic of Armenia.” Nine pedagogues were also granted the “Moves Khorenatsi” medal.
Twelve teachers were given special thanks for their long service by the prime minister. Teachers and principals were also given awards and gifts in appreciation for their work.

We note that an awards ceremony will take place at the Education Ministry on October 9. On October 7, Yerevan’s mayor will give certificates and monetary gifts to the teachers of Yerevan’s public schools.
