III INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF FILMS FOR YOUTH TO START OFF ON OCTOBER 25

“The main objective of the festival of films for youth is to activate the Armenian cinematography, as recently the number of films created has decreased, and those few that have been created are not for children,” said Nelly Alyolova, Artistis Director of the ‘Rolan Bikov’ Fund while talking to a Panorama.am correspondent. According to her, the festival is greatly contributing to the development of the filmmaking industry.
It should be noted that on October 25 the 3rd International festival of films for youth will start off, organized by the Armenian Fund for Development of Cinematography and Television, the ‘Rolan Bikov’ Fund, in cooperation with the RA Ministry of Culture and Yerevan Municipality.

The festival has grown larger this year both in terms of the participating countries and the number of films to be presented. Thirty-three full-screen films will be shown representing 19 countries of the world (Japan, Italy, Russia, England, Egypt, etc.). Fourteen films will participate in the contest under two nominations – fiction and animation films. Armenia will be represented by 2 films.
The festival will last till October 31, hosting well-known foreign cinematographers who play a significant role in the sphere of filmmaking. The jury consists of representatives of France, India, Argentine, and Armenia (Hrant Tokhatyan, Gayane Martirosyan, Mikayel Dovlatyan, Hakob Kirakosyan.)
“It is the second year that we also have members of the children’s jury from Yerevan, Karabagh and marzes,” N. Alyolova said.
