“THEATRE GUILTY FOR LACK OF AUDIENCE”

“I think that the actors increased in number but not in quality. It means we go towards the indefinite future,” said Lala Mnacakanyan, honored and talented actress from Mher Mkrtchyan theatre. She said that the comic plays grow up such an audience which will have no idea about the theatre in the near future.
Azat Gasparyan, an actor from Gabriel Sundukyan dramatic theatre said that the National Assembly did not accept the law about the theatre. “Theater world is dull and unattractive, because we do not have our audience,” said he. The actor mentioned that the officials themselves do not visit theatres as they are not interested in them.
According to Lala Mnacakanyan, if the theatre lacks its audience then theater itself is guilty. She continued that if the actor has something serious, interesting to say then he/she has its own audience. The point of view of the audience must be taken into account, as theatre is a dialogue itself.
According to Azat Gasparyan, theatre blames the government as they lack financial support. He said that the producers need money to produce new, modern plays. There is no money, there is no modern play. The youth today prefers comic plays, and that is why they stopped going to theatres.
