The editors-in-chief of “Azg”, “Hraparak” dailies, the Presidents of Yerevan Press Club and “Internews” NGO told the journalists in a press conference about the losses of the mass media during the period of the world financial-economic crisis.
“Financial crisis has had its impact on every sphere, and mass media could not remain apart of it,” said Armine Ohanyan, the editor-in-chief of “Hraparak” daily. According to her the publishing expenses increased but the price of the paper remained the same, hence they have serious problems.
Hakob Avetiqyan, the editor-in-chief of “Azg” daily said that they have serious problems because they have lost some big contracts which guaranteed their profitability.
Nune Sargsyan, the President of “Internews” NGO says that the only good thing during the crisis is that because of strong competition the papers would start publishing qualified and accurate stories.
