Armenian Health Minister says children need special vaccines against A/H1N1

Armenian Minister of Health Harutyun Qushkyan told the reporters today that Armenia is ready to meet the new flu challenges as we have correspondent medicament against swine flu. He says there are about 7 500 doze of “Tamiflu”.

The Minister told that another 20 thousand dose will be provided to our state as WHO demands 30 thousand of dose to be the norm.

“WHO planned to provide the medicament to Armenia in January as we did not recorded any swine flu case, but we have applied to some international organizations and asked to change the schedule,” Health Minister said.

Regarding the children, Health Minister said that special medicament is to be imported especially for the children aiming to escape any negative influences.

To Panorama.am observation that local pharmacies lack seasonal flu medicament and masks, Health Minister said that he has invited a round table meeting with the medicament importers to demand correspondent amount of medicine and masks. He added that USAID will provide 7 500 masks to the ministry which will be spread to the public.
