All pharmacies closed in Turkey

“Today closed, tomorrow don’t know” – all Turkish pharmacy shop windows read, according to the Turkish media. Only pharmacies on duty are open.

Turkish pharmacists’ protest is addressed to the Turkish government, particularly, Labor and Social Affairs Minister Omer Dincer.

The strike aims to protest an agreement reached by the ministry and pharmaceutical companies that will reduce medicine prices by 24%. Pharmacists say, the agreement ignores their interests and the losses they will suffer from the price reduction should be refunded.

The Turkish Pharmacists Union (TEB) released a statement saying they will continue the strategy.
