China suspends sanctions against US

China on Saturday suspended military exchanges with the United States, threatened unprecedented sanctions against U.S. defense companies and warned that cooperation would suffer after Washington announced $6.4 billion in planned arms sales to Taiwan. The arms deal, announced Friday, includes 60 Black Hawk helicopters, Patriot interceptor missiles, advanced Harpoon missiles that can be used against land or ship targets, and two refurbished minesweepers.
