Google pays Apple $100 milion

Contrary to previous rumors, Apple is not likely to create their own search engine for the iPhone. This is due to the deal they have made with Google that nets them $100 million per year according to Business Insider. Apple is very unlikely to opt out of this arrangement for numerous reasons. Firstly, it is the status quo for the iPhone and it works well. Individual search engine preference is a matter of taste, but few dislike Google. Secondly, and most importantly, Apple is getting more money from Google in revenue sharing than from anyone else. Although Google and Apple seem to have come into an antagonistic rivalry over the past year, there are not many companies willing to shell out $100 million per year to be on the iPhone.
