41.3 million watched Oscar telecast by ABC

ABC's telecast of the Academy Awards Sunday night was watched by more than 41.3 million viewers. That's the best for an Oscar cast in five years - since 2005, when “Million Dollar Baby” was the big winner. The Academy Awards ratings add to a string of better-than-expected performances this year for major events.

Critics say the competition between Kathryn Bigelow and James Cameron caused gaining as much audience. Bigelow’s film of Iraq war took 6 statues and Cameron’s Avatar 3.
