The issue of Armenians having illegal status in Turkey has become timely after Turkey’s PM Erdogan threatened to expel those Armenians from the country. Turkish Hurriyet writes the local Government plans to take efforts in this regard.
Armenian children living in those families don’t have Turkish citizenship; hence they don’t go to schools and grow uneducated. Aram archbishop Ateshyan told Hurriyet that PM’s consultant Byulent Arinchi promised taking efforts to solve the education issues of those children. “I met with Mr. Arinchi previous week and told him about those problems,” Archbishop said.
The PM’s consultant said he is for the settlement of that problem. And the problem is that the children of non Muslims can’t get education and attend classes in schools. But the Turkish official stated such children should have that opportunity as it’s important from the point of view of humanism.
“I’ve raised that problem during Government’s session. The Prime Minister hailed the proposal and underscored the necessity to abolish the shortcomings for those children to attend schools,” Turkish official stated. He said, the Minister of Education has been recommended to settle the problem.
