Nika Awards: Karen Shakhnazarov’s 'Ward No 6' gets two nominations

Moscow State Academic Theatre is due to host 23rd Nika Awards Ceremony April 6.

Karen Shakhnazarov’s “Ward No 6” has been nominated in “Best Film” category. Note that the film has already won a number of prizes. Other films nominated in the same category are: “Tsar” by Pavel Lungin, “A Room and a Half” by Andrey Khrzhanovsky and two others.

Karen Shakhnazarov has another nomination in “Best Director” category.

The Nika Awards is a prestigious annual ceremony held by the Russian Academy of Cinema Arts and Sciences which was established in 1987 in Moscow, Russia by Yuli Gusman, and ostensibly modelled on the Academy Awards (Oscars). Nika awards prizes in 15 categories.
