The Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia is the only Armenian NGO to have its representative in Istanbul, Turkey. To Panorama.am question what the mission of the organization is, the chairman of the NGO Arsen Ghazaryan said they solve three basic problems.
“We’ve always been saying the freight transfer with Turkey is one-sided, we are perfectly experienced in importing both Turkish goods and service but we don’t have any official data on how much we export. Turkey has protected the embargo till today and we can’t export any Armenian product into their market,” A Ghazaryan said.
The mission of the representation is to study the market and record what products could be exported and what products are competitive.
“The second is how to organize exporting for those Turkish companies which need our product. We feel the regime is weakened – transit freight transfer through Turkey is allowed,” Ghazaryan said.
The third issue is that the real potential of both Armenian and Turkish economies should be displayed.
