In the short film category at Cannes, Canadian filmmaker Atom Egoyan’s jury selected French filmmaker Serge Avedikian’s Chienne d’Histoire (Barking Island) for the Palme d’Or. It is the odd story of how stray dogs were deported to an island during a clean-up of the streets of Constantinople in 1910.
Serge Avedikian was born in December 1, 1955, in Yerevan. He is an Armenian-French film and theatre actor, director, writer and producer. Is first film was produced in 1979 and the last one in 2009. He is the author of 51 films.
