Armenian Russian tenor Khachatur Badalyan has been awarded the first prize in international competition after Galina Vishnevskaya hosted in Moscow.
More than 50 young opera singers from Russia, the US, Ukraine, Armenia and Mongolia demonstrated their skills as part of an international competition being held by the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Center.
A blue ribbon jury led by Vishnevskaya herself judged the competition’s program of exclusively opera pieces sung in their original languages.
The Vishnevskaya Opera Center held its first international competition in Moscow in 2006 and it made a big splash worldwide.
