Zaman. Armenian-Iranian ties of great significance for Turkey

The upgrading of the Armenian-Iranian ties and the expansion of the cooperation spheres are widely targeted by the Turkish media. Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani’s Armenian visit has made those discussions even hot.

Turkish “Zaman” daily published “Armenia-Iran. Developing ties” story covering the interrelations of those neighbor states.

“Ties with our neighbors are surely of great significance. At the same time, ties among our neighbors are also very important, since they can have certain kind of impact. We need to keep an eye on our neighbors’ interrelations and nature of those ties,” “Zaman” writes.

It’s said that Yerevan and Tehran set wide perspectives of cooperation, and are ready to carry out projects of regional significance; for example, construction of the rail road directly linking Armenia and Iran, the new “south Caucasus” way, projects to build hydroelectric stations on the River Araks. It’s reported that some energy projects have minimized Armenia’s dependence from Russia.
