Armenian GM Varuzhan Akobian scored 5 points out of 6 and took the first prize in the "National Open" which was held in Las Vegas, USA, armchess.am informs.
GM Loek Van Wely (Netherlands) had the same result, however, he was behind Akobian in the tie-break.
Another Armenian grandmaster, Melikset Khachiyan was behind the first prize-holder with half a point.
86 chess players took part in the tournament.
