Thomas DiBenedetto takes over Roma

Thomas DiBenedetto has completed his takeover of Roma as the club passes into American hands after he signed an agreement with banking group UniCredit on Thursday.

Sky Sport Italia reports DiBenedetto arrived in the Italian capital where the agreement was signed, meaning he now becomes the majority shareholder of the club.

The 62-year-old magnate from Boston met with UniCredit lawyer Roberto Capelli and the contracts were formalized, Goal.com says.
