Casillas fined for being late to training

Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas was fined for turning up late to training on Monday despite producing evidence to prove circumstances beyond his control had prevented him being on time, the Daily Mail reported.

The stopper used social media site Facebook to show that he had in fact been caught in a traffic jam on-route to Madrid's training base in the city.

However, manager Jose Mourinho failed to see the funny side and fined the World Cup-winning captain.
