Maradona undergoes successful kidney stones operation

Diego Maradona has been discharged from a hospital in Dubai after having kidney stones removed, The Daily Mail reported.

Maradona's club, Al Wasl, says the coach and former Argentina great was told he could leave the hospital and recuperate at home.

'Maradona has been cleared after undergoing a successful operation to remove his kidney stones and will be discharged from hospital,' read the statement, posted on Twitter.

Maradona complained of abdominal pains on Sunday and was taken to a local hospital, where doctors determined he needed surgery to remove kidney stones.
