Manchester City hope to sign David Pizarro on loan

Manchester City are working on a deal to sign Chile midfielder David Pizarro, 32, on a free loan from Roma for the rest of the season, BBC reported.

City boss Roberto Mancini coached Pizarro at Inter Milan and would like to bolster his midfield for the Premier League title run-in.

Pizarro arrived in Italy from Santiago in 1998 and played for Udinese for five years before joining Inter.

He joined Roma in 2006 but has made only 142 appearances.
