CEC rejects proposal from US Embassy

The US Embassy confirmed to Haykakan Zhamanak the information that they suggested the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia observing Hrazdan mayoral elections due on February 12.

“We appealed to CEC but were refused. We expect to observe the forthcoming elections, thinking it very important,” US Embassy spokesperson Taguhi Jahukyan told the daily. She found it difficult to say what was the motivation for CEC’s refusal.
