Haykakan Zhamanak: Samvel Nikoyan to be ordinary MP

Parliament ex-speaker Samvel Nikoyan will not be given a ministerial portfolio in the new Cabinet, but will be an ordinary MP, RPA executive body’s and council’s meetings unveiled Friday.

According to Haykakan Zhamanak, Nikoyan had declared in CEC that he may receive some position in the Cabinet.

“RPA circles said Nikoyan was likely to be Minister of Nature Protection. Later, some other rumors linked him with the position of Minister of Labor and Social Issues and Minister of Urban Development.

When it was revealed yesterday that he will not receive any position, everybody’s reaction was that he was “let down,” the paper writes.
