Haykakan Zhamanak: Margar Ohanyan may petition for pardon

According to Haykakan Zhamanak, former Chief of Traffic Police Margar Ohanyan, who was sentenced to 6 years in prison for large-sale embezzlement, did not appeal against the verdict because he plans to write a pardon letter to Serzh Sargsyan.

The paper asked Ohanyan’s lawyer Mkrtich Vasakyan to comment on the rumor.

“It is his personal matter. I can’t say such a thing. We don’t talk about such things. If Ohanyan decides to do such a thing, I will know about it,” the lawyer said.
