Zhoghovurd: Vardan Jhangiryan leaves country

Vardan Jhangiryan, former political prisoner, brother of Armenian National Congress (HAK) member, MP Gagik Jhangiryan, has sold his property and left for Ukraine for permanent residence, Zhoghovurd reports, citing its sources.

Zhoghovurd tried to contact Vardan Jhangiryan but failed to reach him on the phone. His brother, Gagik Jhangiryan, neither confirmed nor denied this rumor, saying that he does not want to comment on it.

Vardan Jhangiryan ran for parliament in No. 23 electoral district by majoritarian system at the May 6 parliamentary elections in Armenia, and was beaten by Orinats Yerkir Party member Karen Botoyan.
