Zhoghovurd: Deputy prosecutor fired for hitting traffic police officer

Deputy prosecutor of Aragatsotn region Armen Melkonyan has been fired lately for beating up a traffic police officer, Zhoghovurd reports, citing well-informed sources. Melkonyan gave him a slap in the face after the police officer stopped his car. The deputy prosecutor then took him to his office and beat him severely.

Zhoghovurd asked Armenian Prosecutor General’s spokesperson Sona Truzyan to comment on the rumor. She said, “Deputy prosecutor of Aragatsotn region Armen Melkonyan was dismissed from his position on August 22, 2012 for improper conduct.”
