Armenian GM Hrant Melkumyan, scoring 7 points out of 9, shared 3-5th places with GMs Maxim Turov (Russia) and Edouard Romain (France) at the rapid open chess tournament in Basel, Switzerland. Melkumyan finished fifth on tiebreak.

IM Eric Hansen (Canada) and GM Mateusz Bartel (Poland) had 7.5 points each. Hansen won after tiebreak.

85 chess players participated in the tournament, the website of Armenian Chess Federation reported.
