Armed man attempts to break into Armenian parliament

A man armed with a knife has attempted to break into the Armenian parliament, introducing himself as “Jesus Christ.”

Security guards tried to prevent the man from advancing. A shot was fired into the air. But the man was moving ahead and the security guards were forced to fire at his leg, deputy head of the State Guard Service Samvel Hovhannisyan told Panorama.am.

The man was taken to hospital. An investigation is underway.
