Monitoring underway in egg market – official

A monitoring is underway in the egg market, Artak Shaboyan, chairman of Armenia’s State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition, told a press briefing in Yerevan, adding that he demanded that the companies having monopoly in the egg market present a detailed information on the reasons of increase in egg prices. 

“Egg prices rose in mid-August, but decreased in mid-September. Studies are being conducted at present,” the official said.

Beginning mid-August, egg prices have increased by AMD 5-10.
