Surb Khach Armenian church set on fire in Syria

Islamists have set fire to the Surb Khach Armenian church in the city of Tal Abyad in the northeast of Syria, Aztag newspaper reported. 

The church was sheltering Arab families.

According to the newspaper, fighters from the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham are said to be behind the violence. Late on October 27, they removed the church’s cross and set fire to the church.

The interior of the church was damaged in the fire.
