Zhamanak: Amnesty not to be prolonged

The amnesty announced on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of Armenia’s independence will end in a few days, on December 25. However, some press reports suggest that the amnesty will be prolonged.

Zhamanak daily spoke to Justice Ministry spokeswoman Karine Kalantaryan. “The amnesty will not be prolonged. I in particular mean the criminal cases which are under preliminary investigation and cases that are in courts. There is no issue of prolonging the amnesty,” she said.
