No end to terror unless S Arabia exposed – analyst

Press TV has conducted an interview with Bill Jones, from the Executive Intelligence Review form Leesburg, to discuss the threats that the ISIL terrorists will be to the Unites States itself.

Press TV: What legacy has America left behind in Iraq?

Jones: I think he has left a very sad legacy of division, of chaos and of danger of internecine and inter-ethnic warfare. The invasion in Iraq created a chaotic situation inside the country and it hasn’t got any better with time and then the US pulled out and the whole thing started to fall apart.

So, you have to trace this back to the beginning of the Iraq war in which the relative stability that existed then - how[ever] bad it may have been - was ripped apart by the invasion of Iraq on the basis of so-called weapons of mass destruction that have proved to be so false.

Press TV: With the ISIL threat in place, just how much change will we see in US policy, the fact that the US is one of the supporters of ISIL in Syria?

Jones: The problem is that they have been a supporter of both possibly directly but certainly indirectly through the Saudis and Qataris and the biggest problem that the US has had is that they have always looked the other way in anything that the Saudis have been doing in terms of the feeding into the terrorism networks in the region whether that be the al-Qaeda or ISIL or so-called the Syrian opposition much of that interface each other.

We have looked the other way or given direct support on the basis that Saudi Arabia together with Israel are our best friends in the region and unless that is changed, unless the Saudi role in this is exposed, I think we are going to have a problem down the road that any kind of American military involvement in order to defeat or to stop or to hinder the ISIL is a total folly.

We must begin working with the countries in the region to try and create a fabric of stability region wide which the United States has consistently refused to do even though this was proposed by some very influential political figures during the course of the Iraq war.

Press TV: How bigger threat is the ISIL to the Unites States itself?

Jones: Directly probably not such a big threat but indirectly of course, given the situation in the Middle East if the ISIL would create a radical Islamic state in the region, then that becomes a catalyst for what can become a much more widespread war and chaos involving not only the regional powers but given the interest of other international powers in the region including Russia, China, the United States, we are looking at some pretty serious conflicts between these great powers as a result of a failure to create this peace of Middle East.

So, indirectly the victory of ISIL would have a very important indirect effect on the United States as well as on the rest of the countries of the world in the Eurasian region.
