Zhoghovurd: Sanctions against Russia to affect Armenian economy

The confrontation between Russia and the West over Ukraine is entering a new phase. Both the United States and the European Union have decided to impose more sanctions against Russia. On Thursday, the U.S. banned a number of Russian energy companies and banks from entering its financial markets, Hraparak writes.

The sanctions will inevitably affect Armenia’s economy, especially as Rosneft and Gazprombank are on the U.S. blacklist, the newspaper notes.

According to the newspaper, Armenian Economy Minister Karen Chshmarityan has said that the sanctions against Russian companies may affect Armenia as well.
