Open skies policy boosts passenger flow

The implementation of the open skies policy contributed to an increase in passenger flow in Armenia, a source in the General Department of Civil Aviation of Armenia told Panorama.am.

According to the source, in May-July 2014, passenger flow via Zvartnots and Shirak airports made 632,000 passengers against 469,000 passengers in the same period of last year, marking a 34.6% increase.

Besides, new airlines have entered the market - Etihad Airways and Vueling, which operate flights to Abu Dhabi and Barcelona respectively.
