Haykakan Zhamanak: Mikoyan statue not to be installed this year

The bust of Soviet statesman Anastas Mikoyan will not be installed this year, chief architect of Yerevan Tigran Barseghyan has told Haykakan Zhamanak. The statue was initially planned to be installed by the end of the year.

There is no progress, Barseghyan said. “Giving more importance to other problems, we are now tackling them. But it doesn’t mean that we have given up the Mikoyan statue,” he noted, meanwhile giving no guarantees that the statue will be installed next year.
