Expert: Armenian side should take advantage of U.S. resolutions on Karabakh

California State Senate’s resolution recognizing Nagorno-Karabakh’s independence is an unprecedented move, political scientist Levon Melik-Shahnazaryan says.

“The resolution will have serious significance if it has political and economic consequences,” the analyst told reporters on Wednesday.

“Artsakh has the right to open a diplomatic mission in California and to export goods to California,” the expert said.

Melik-Shahnazaryan noted that four U.S. states have recognized the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh.

“We should take advantage of these resolutions,” he stressed.

The expert also said that the United States is interested in peace in our region.
