Haykakan Zhamanak: Number of first graders increased this year

The number of first graders in Armenia exceeds the number of last year by about 700. About 36,800 first graders went to school last year, while their number is about 37,500 this year. The Armenian Ministry of Education and Science has provided these data to Haykakan Zhamanak newspaper.

“41,238 births were registered in Armenia in 2008, so just as many first graders were expected to go to school six years later, in 2014, but as we see, this number is less by about 3,740,” says the newspaper.
