Haykakan Zhamanak: Former Ombudsman of Armenia is a candidate for ECHR judge

Citing well-informed sources, Haykakan Zhamanak writes that Armenia’s ex-Ombudsman Armen Harutyunyan submitted an application for participation in the contest for Armenian judge at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).

Harutyunyan resigned as Ombudsman in 2011.

Renowned lawyer Vahe Grigoryan also aspires for the position.

According to the newspaper, a total of 11 candidates participate in the contest.
