Constitutional Court chairman Gagik Harutyunyan will resign in 2018, when he will turn 70, which is the mandatory retirement age, Haykakan Zhamanak writes. Harutyunyan, who is also the chairman of the Professional Commission for Constitutional Reforms, is reportedly very interested in the constitutional amendments. He hopes that in case the country switches to a parliamentary system, after 2018 he will be elected president, with symbolic powers, by the National Assembly for seven years.
