Vazgen Khachikyan sentenced to 12 years in prison

Vazgen Khachikyan, former head of the State Social Security Service of Armenia, was sentenced to 12 years in prison by the general jurisdiction court of first instance of Yerevan’s Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts.

He was charged under the Criminal Code’s articles on embezzlement of particularly large sums by an organized group, fraud, and official forgery.

The indictment said that in 2006- 2010 he embezzled particularly large sums – about 260 million 956 thousand drams.
