Armenian Transport Minister discusses new procedures for taxi services

Armenian Minister of Transport and Communication Gagik Beglaryan on Friday held a meeting with heads of taxi companies and drivers to discuss the new procedures established for taxi services.

Deputy Head of Transport Department at the Ministry of Transport and Communication David Melkonyan briefed on the changes in the licensing procedure regulating the passenger transportation via taxis. 

In particular, the new licensing rules include abolition of yellow license plates and cancellation of the requirement to undergo daily medical and technical examination. The new procedures apply to all organizations, individual businessmen and natural persons.

“The licensing procedure will be implemented by “one window” principle, by the Ministry of Transport and Communication,” Melkonyan added.
