Earthquake hits border area between Armenia and Azerbaijan

Magnitude 3.9 earthquake hit the border area between Armenia and Azerbaijan at 3:02 am local time on January 8, the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

The earthquake measured 4-5 on the Richter scale in the epicenter. The hypocenter was at a depth of 10 km.

The earthquake was felt in Armenia’s Kajaran (measuring 5), Kapan and Sisian (3-4).

Aftershocks, measuring 3.3, hit Kajaran (4), Kapan and Sisian (2-3).
