Armenia to double pensions for soldiers serving on frontline

The Armenian government on Thursday approved the amendments to the Law on State Pensions.

According to the amendments, the Armenian officers, noncommissioned officers and contract servicemen who perform their military service at the Line of Contact will get double pensions.  

The proposal is in compliance with the Armenian military reform program for 2010-2015, aiming to develop a social security system for demobilized soldiers and their families.
