The 4th Pan-Armenian Recitation Festival started in Shushi, the Nagorno Karabakh Republic. The event dedicated to the centenary of the Armenian Genocide has brought together 61 participants from Armenia and the Diaspora, including the U.S., Ukraine, Belarus, Syria, Javakhk, and Iran, as well as 42 local reciters from Artsakh, according to the press service of Diaspora Ministry.
The head of the Department for Armenian Communities of the CIS Taron Shagoyan read aloud the welcoming speech of Armenian Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan.
This year the 100thanniversary of the Armenian Genocide has united the Armenians around the world, and we aim to continue our struggle also by preserving the Armenian language and culture in the name of restoring justice and fulfilling the national goals, the message said in particular.
Master classes will be conducted during the festival. The participants will do the sights of Armenia and Artsakh.
