Armenia’s IC opens criminal case over death of serviceman Karen Grigoryan due to Azerbaijani actions

The Investigative Committee (IC) of Armenia has opened a criminal case over the death of Armenian serviceman Karen Grigoryan. The case was opened under the Criminal Code’s Article 104 part 2 point 13 (murder out of ethnic, racial or religious hatred), according to the press service of IC.  

The press service of Defense Ministry of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic reported earlier that around 8:40 pm on December 11, a serviceman of the NKR Defense Army, Karen Armeni Grigoryan, 20, died from a gunshot wound after being hit by an Azerbaijani sniper’s bullet. The incident took place on a frontline position of a military unit of NKR Defense Army in the eastern direction of the line of contact between the armed forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan.
