People in big families happier than singles in Armenia: survey

A sociological survey conducted in Armenia showed that 25% of respondents consider themselves happy.
According to the Gender Barometer Survey done in 10 Armenian provinces and Yerevan, 55.6% of respondents considered themselves quite happy, 15.5% said they were not too happy, and 3.8% said they were unhappy.

The survey also revealed than in Armenia more men than women consider themselves happy (29.9% against 22.6%).

Members of big families, as well as married people, are happier than singles in Armenia. Divorced people are the most unhappy ones. Those with a high personal or family income are happier. 

The survey also revealed that:

- respondents with more education were happier,
- respondents with higher status in the workplace were happier,
- those considering themselves more successful were happier than those who attribute success to sincerity, smartness and birthplace,
- those who considered their gender as important for reaching success were much happier,
- those holding traditional views about genders were happier,
- both men and women attaching importance to material well-being were less happy,
- respondents who believed that the rights of men and women are protected in Armenia were happier.
